Website Redesign Services and Rescue
Website redesign services for a site that is slow, broken or built by someone unreachable. We audit before proposing a rebuild, because repair is often cheaper and keeps the rankings you have.
Repair or Rebuild
A rebuild is not always the answer and it is rarely the cheap one. Four tests decide.
- Can your team edit it
- If every change needs a developer, that cost never stops and usually beats a one-off rebuild.
- Is the structure sound
- If URLs and categories sit in the right places, repair is cheaper and keeps the rankings you already have.
- Is it slow because of images or because of the build
- Images and caching are a repair. A theme carrying unused code is a rebuild.
- Is traffic rising
- If it is, a redesign risks undoing months of progress. We stage it or we wait.
Website Redesign Services Without Losing Rankings
The redirect map is the part that decides whether this goes well.
Baseline
Rankings, traffic and top pages recorded before anything changes. Without this you cannot prove what happened.
URL map
Every existing URL matched to its new destination. This is where most redesigns quietly lose traffic.
Build on staging
The new site assembled beside the live one, built as a business site with content migrated rather than retyped.
Redirects and launch
Redirects live at cutover, not the week after. Search Console watched daily for the first fortnight.
Recovery window
Four weeks of monitoring. Small drops are normal, and we know which are worth acting on.
What Stops This Going Wrong
- A recorded baseline
Numbers from before, so any change is measurable rather than argued about.
- A complete redirect map
Every old URL accounted for. Missing redirects are the main cause of post-redesign traffic loss.
- Content migrated, not rewritten
Pages that rank keep their content unless the content itself is the problem. Rewriting proven pages is a common and expensive mistake.
- Monitoring after launch
Four weeks of Search Console review included, because problems appear after cutover rather than during it.
Three Redesign Mistakes We Refuse
Each of these has cost businesses their rankings, and all three are avoidable.
- Launching without redirects, planning to add them later. Later is usually after the traffic has gone.
- Rewriting pages that already rank because the new design needs shorter text. Design serves content, not the reverse.
- Changing the URL structure with no reason beyond preference. Every change costs something and must earn it.
If the current site is fundamentally sound, a technical fix may cost far less than a rebuild.
Questions About Redesigns
Will a redesign hurt my rankings?
Should I redesign or just fix my site?
How long does a website redesign take?
Can you keep my content but change the design?
What if the previous developer will not hand over access?
Send the site before deciding anything
We tell you honestly whether repair beats rebuild, even when that means a smaller project for us.
